Machadodorp · Mpumalanga Highveld
Oukraalvalle
A rustic nature farm with marked walking trails, waterfalls and an old stone farmhouse in the hills.
The farm
Old ground,
open sky
Oukraalvalle sits in the folded grassland hills outside Machadodorp, where the highveld breaks into wooded kloofs, clear streams and long views.
It is a working farm, not a resort — and that is the point. The grass grows tall, the water runs clean off the rocks, and the only schedule is the weather's. Come walk it.
The walking trails
Red discs mark the way
Painted footprint markers lead you out of the garden and into the veld — through tunnels of old trees, up grassland slopes, and down into the kloof where the water runs.
Routes suit everyone from a slow morning wander to a proper leg-stretch up the ridge. Kids, grandparents and dogs all manage — take a hat, take water, follow the footprints home. → look for the red discs on the trees

Waterfalls & rock pools
Where the kloof lets go
The streams gather in the forest and drop over dark rock into clear pools — the reward at the end of the trail.
Press play — this is the sound of the place
Further up the kloof the same stream stacks into smaller cascades and cold, clean rock pools — exactly what you want after the walk in. Bring a costume in summer.

The farmhouse
Stone walls,
wood fires
The old farmhouse is built from the farm's own stone — a rustic homestead with a fireplace big enough to sit in, an upright piano, and a kitchen that smells like breakfast.
Three bedrooms — doubles and a family room with bunks — sleep a whole crowd. Evenings happen around the fire pit on the lawn; mornings start with coffee and that view. It's simple, honest and comfortable — farm comfortable. bring marshmallows
